Rev. Brenda Warren, Transitional Minister
Rev. Brenda Griffin Warren was born and raised in Dallas. She is a graduate of Baylor University and served as a Library Director in several libraries after getting her Master’s in Library Science from TWU. She received the MDiv in May, 2003 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She immediately began serving at First Christian Church, Beaumont, Texas where she was Senior Pastor until 2014. Since then Pastor Brenda has been Interim Pastor of Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) in Texas City, Albuquerque, Beaumont, and most recently in San Angelo. She is married to Harvey and they have two adult sons John and James who is married to Dr. Avery Rowlison. Their family also includes two gentle giant Maine Coon cats, Fursey and Nialls. Pastor Brenda’s passion is for the early Celtic and Anglo-Saxon saints in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. She writes about them at www. saintsbridge.org and leads pilgrimages to Celtic Christian sites. Currently, she is writing about Celtic pilgrimage pathways in the UK and will put them online as a Lenten devotional in 2020 at www.celtstothecross.com |
Lucille Vasquez
Administrative Assistant She came on staff as our Administrative Assistant in September. She worked as an Accountant/ Business Coordinator, at UTMB for 27 years and retired in 2010. She worked part time as a Financial Assistant for Memorial Lutheran Church for 6 years. She loves spending time with her family and grandchildren. |
Scott Smeltzer
Music Director Scott Smeltzer has been the music director at First Christian Church in Texas City since 2004. Originally from Mountaintop, Pennsylvania, Scott went to college at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, and has a bachelors of music in music education. In addition to worshiping with First Christian, Scott is the music teacher at Roosevelt-Wilson Elementary School in Texas City, and has been teaching music in public schools since 1995. |

Maintenance He worked at UTMB Campus Police for 26 years and retired in 2009. He has been with First Christian Church in Texas City since 2014. |
